Dicò Gallery
Nel mese di Giugno 2019 è stata inaugurata a Roma in Via di Monserrato, 23 la Dicò Gallery. Essa rappresenta lo spazio espositivo permanente dell’artista romano Enrico Di Nicolantonio – in arte Dicò- ed oltre ad essere una galleria, rappresenta il cuore pulsante del suo lavoro. Lo spazio architettonico è articolato in vari ambienti, volto ad immergere lo spettatore in un’esperienza totale.
L’artista matura le sue prime esperienze artistiche nell’Istituto d’arte a via di Ripetta e poi in studi e laboratori di artisti mentre assorbe le più diverse sollecitazioni, dal materico al figurativo, dal geometrico al concettuale, che lo aiuta a usare le prime, diversissime tra loro, dimostrando artistiche.
Curioso e vorace per natura, sente il bisogno di allargare il panorama degli stimoli e si dirige in America più volte. La Pop-Art diventa la sua area di riferimento privilegiata e tutte le innovative suggestioni cromatiche e visuali che assorbe in questi soggiorni negli Stati Uniti, confluiranno in breve in quello che diverrà poi il suo originale stile creativo.
Il suo linguaggio si sviluppa nella sperimentazione di nuove tecniche e nuovi materiali arrivando così a mettere un punto in cui diventerà, da qui in poi, la sua cifra stilistica identificativa: la combustione del metacrilato.
Con estrema innovazione, mettendo in evidenza il proprio carattere e la propria personalità, predilige l’elemento del fuoco da cui attinge forza vitale ed energia.
Le sue opere sono realizzate su tavola da una combinazione di resine, sovrapposizioni di materiali diversi, anche industriali, corrosioni e combustioni: modella, plasma, buca la lastra in plexiglas che avvolge l’intera superficie, mentre il neon, introdotto dall’artista dopo un anno dalle prime creazioni evoca un estremo potere comunicativo.
Fondamentale nel suo percorso artistico è stato l’incontro con la Galleria Ca’ d’Oro, curata da Lamberto Petrecca che oggi è anche il suo curatore personale. È con questa galleria che l’artista partecipa nel 2012 alla grande mostra collettiva “Omaggio a Marilyn” presentata a Roma e a Miami, in occasione del cinquantesimo anniversario della scomparsa della diva. La collaborazione prosegue e nel 2013 l’artista partecipa alla grande collettiva “Omaggio a Verdi” nel Bicentenario della nascita del grande compositore. In seguito, ha esposto anche all’Ambasciata italiana a Montecarlo, in occasione de “il mese della Cultura”, al Macro Testaccio, al Museo Crocetti e al Museo d’Arte Contemporanea MDM di Porto Cervo. Fino ad arrivare a presentare la grande mostra antologica “Combustioni” a Roma al Complesso del Vittoriano dal 7 giugno 2017, che riassume il percorso fatto sin qui da Dicò e ne è il funzionamento stesso verso un aggiornamento in vista di nuovi appuntamenti e nuove realizzazioni artistiche.
Le opere di Dicò esprimono una estrema originalità compositiva ed una forza espressiva data dalla fusione di elementi diversi come arte, tecnica e passione, che non passa inosservata: nel corso del tempo diventa uno degli artisti più originali del panorama italiano e internazionale e le sue opere sono presenti nelle collezioni che spaziano da esponenti del mondo della cultura, dello spettacolo, della finanza e dello sport.
Dicò Gallery
In June 2019 the Dicò Gallery was inaugurated in Rome in Via di Monserrato, 23. It represents the permanent exhibition space of the Roman artist Enrico Di Nicolantonio – aka Dicò – and besides being a gallery, it represents the beating heart of his work. The architectural space is articulated in various environments, aimed at immersing the viewer in a total experience.
The artist matures his first artistic experiences in the Art Institute in Via di Ripetta and then in artists’ studios and laboratories while absorbing the most diverse solicitations, from the material to the figurative, from the geometric to the conceptual, which helps him to use the first, very different from each other, showing artistic.
Curious and voracious by nature, he feels the need to widen the panorama of stimuli and goes to America several times. The Pop-Art becomes its privileged reference area and all the innovative chromatic and visual suggestions that it absorbs in these stays in the United States, will soon flow into what will then become its original creative style.
His language develops in the experimentation of new techniques and new materials, thus arriving at a point in which, from here on, he will become his identifying stylistic code: the combustion of methacrylate.
With extreme innovation, highlighting his character and personality, he prefers the element of fire from which he draws life force and energy.
His works are made on wood by a combination of resins, overlapping different materials, including industrial ones, corrosion and combustion: model, plasma, hole in the Plexiglas plate that wraps the entire surface, while the neon, introduced by the artist after one year from the first creations evokes an extreme communicative power.
The meeting with the Ca ’d’Oro Gallery, curated by Lamberto Petrecca, which is now also his personal curator, was fundamental in his artistic career. It is with this gallery that the artist participates in 2012 in the great collective exhibition “Omaggio a Marilyn” presented in Rome and Miami, on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the death of the diva. The collaboration continues and in 2013 the artist participates in the great collective “Omaggio a Verdi” in the Bicentenary of the birth of the great composer. Later, he also exhibited at the Italian Embassy in Montecarlo, on the occasion of “the month of Culture”, at the Macro Testaccio, at the Crocetti Museum and at the Museum of Contemporary Art MDM of Porto Cervo. Until arriving to present the great anthological exhibition “Combustioni” in Rome at the Complesso del Vittoriano from 7 June 2017, which summarizes the path taken so far by Dicò and is its operation itself towards an update in view of new appointments and new artistic achievements .
The works of Dicò express an extreme compositional originality and an expressive force given by the fusion of different elements such as art, technique and passion, which does not go unnoticed: over time it becomes one of the most original artists of the Italian and international scene and his works they are present in the collections that range from exponents of the world of culture, entertainment, finance and sport.
